Queen Palm to screen Iran’s film ‘Oblivion’

The Queen Palm Int'l Film Festival in the US is to screen Iran’s short ‘Oblivion’.

The Queen Palm International Film Festival (QPIFF) in the US has set to screen Iran’s short ‘Oblivion’ directed by Fatemeh Mohammadi.

Produced by Iranian Youth Cinema Society, the short film depicts the challenges facing old people.

“Old people are passed into oblivion when their loved ones forget about them,” a synopsis for the film reads.

‘Oblivion’ has won the Second Best Film award at the 2nd Shahu International Film Festival in India and the Best Short Film Cultural Diversity award at the 2019 Setting Sun Film Festival in Australia.

The film has also attended several global events, including the Phoenix Film Festival, the Buffalo International Film Festival, and the Post Alley Film Festival, all in the US, as well as the Mercy to Universe International Short Film Competition in Turkey.

The QPIFF is a bi-monthly film, music, and screenwriting competition with a live Annual Screening and Awards Show Event in the city of Palm Springs in California.

The festival is aimed “to discover diverse new voices and to promote artists' work through numerous platforms,” according to the event’s website.
